The Renault TwinFun concept automobile has been teased ahead of its official unveiling on the eve of the Monaco Grand Prix.
The images show the car’s foglights and intricate front alloy wheel. However, we’ve already seen the Renault TwinFun fully revealed on a film shoot in Madrid, Spain.
The TwinFun, which may hint at a future Renaultsport version of the next Twingo, will be shown in Monaco on may 24, ahead of the Grand Prix race weekend, and will also be seen at July’s Goodwood festival of Speed, alongside the Renault Twizy F1 concept revealed last week.

The TwinFun follows the Twin’Z, an all-electric five-door concept that was revealed in Milan on April 8. Both cars and trucks preview the look of the next Renault Twingo, which has been developed in partnership with Mercedes, alongside the replacement for the smart ForTwo.
The replacement for the Twingo and ForTwo will be rear-engined and rear-wheel drive.
The TwinFun is the latest concept automobile to be designed under the leadership of Laurens van den Acker, and comes under the ‘Play’ heading of Renault Design’s ‘life-cycle’ design strategy.
The looks echo Renault’s past, with oversized foglights and the number 5 on the door of the concept both not-so-subtle nods to the Renault 5 Turbo.
The TwinFun concept being filmed in Madrid was being driven alongside a Renault 5 Turbo and Renault Clio V6.
In YouTube videos taken at the scene, the concept can be heard under hard throttle, and sounds like it’s powered by an aggressively tuned V6 – similar in note to the old Metro 6R4 rally automobile – rather than the 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo engine of the 5 Turbo.
A spokesperson for Renault confirmed that the Twingo name may not necessarily be used for the finished production vehicle, too, with the automobile being referred to by its project codename internally for now.
