Kia is set to introduce a Juke-rivalling B-segment SUV, potentially based on the Provo idea car, which debuted at the Geneva motor show in 2013.
Speaking at the 2014 Geneva motor Show, CEO of Kia Europe Michael Cole said: “I’m taking a look at things from a European point of view as well as there are certainly segments evolving that we want to be a part of, like the B-SUV market. The spirit fills that to some degree however it’s an unashamedly American design, much more of a niche product than a volume seller.”

Kia has already showcased the Provo concept, providing us a hint of the strong style as well as Rio-based platform that Kia has in mind for this future model. in spite of Kia’s factories working practically at full capacity, Cole states there is new product coming in the next 18 months as well as the tip is that Provo will be one of them.
Cole likewise reinforced his belief that Kia is now prepared for a halo model, such as a sports car. “It’s not that there’s much more we requirement to finish with the brand, it’s not that we have the wrong understanding of the brand. We’ve now focused on getting the core cars to market as well as now we can believe about what comes next in terms of a halo car,” stated Cole.
The type it would take is still up for argument however Kia’s recent ideas like the GT as well as GT4 Stinger are both on the table. “We’ve previewed the GT – certainly that’s one cars and truck that’s still extremely much under consideration for production, as well as the Stinger is our newest idea on that exact same kind of idea.
“Nothing is signed off however we’re getting to that point – it’s a decision that will be based on production capability much more than anything else,” added Cole.
