The new Hyundai Bayon will be priced from £20,295 when sales begin in the UK in July. created to bolster the Korean car-maker’s existing lineup, the all-new Bayon is a compact crossover that will challenge the likes of the Renault Captur, Ford Puma and Peugeot 2008.
Buyers have the choice of three specifications: SE Connect, premium and Ultimate. The cheapest model is the SE connect 1.0 T-GDI (99bhp) with a six-speed iMT intelligent manual that’s priced from £20,295. It comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, electric mirrors, LED daytime and running lamps.

Inside, the SE connect model gets a leather wrapped multi-function steering wheel and gear knob, cruise control, a rear parking camera, an 8.0-inch infotainment screen that works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. the most inexpensive model also gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

The Bayon Premium, with the same 1.0 T-GDI petrol engine, costs £22,495, but for the extra £2200 you get larger 17-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, heated front seats and steering wheel, climate control in place of air conditioning, wireless phone charging, LED front and rear lamps, electric folding mirrors and a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen that includes navigation.
Upgrade to the range-topping Bayon ultimate 1.0 T-GDI (£23,795) and you get black gloss door mirrors, a two-tone black and grey interior, keyless go, a premium sound system, blind spot warning, and lane-keep assist.

Both the premium and ultimate trims are available with the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch auto and a more powerful 118bhp version of the small 1.0 T-GDI.
